Draft FONSI: Open for Public Comment

• A Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI)is issued if the Environmental Assessment (EA) supports the finding that the project will not have a significant impact on the environment. The FONSI includes the submitted EA and a brief description of the project, alternatives considered, project impacts, and any commitments to mitigation that are essential to render the impacts of the project not significant A.C. R18-15-106 (F) and (J).
• Comments on the FONSI may be submitted to the Authority for a period of 30 days from the date of publication of the notice.

Notices of Categorical Exclusions

• Categorical Exclusion (CATEX) means that the project is eligible to be exempted from the environmental review requirements identified in A.C. R18-15-106 (B) and (C).
• These notices are provided to advise the public of a determination by the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona that the criteria for qualifying for a Categorical Exclusion have been met and this project will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment or public health, and thus, qualifies for a Categorical Exclusion under A.A.C. R18-15-106. Consequently, an Environmental Assessment or an Environmental Impact Statement is not required. Projects qualifying for a Categorical Exclusion are not subject to public comment.
