Water System Improvements Project

The Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) has received a request for financial assistance from the City of Somerton a water infrastructure project. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public and request comments.

 

WIFA staff analysis concluded that the following project neither individually nor cumulatively has a significant effect on the human environment. Therefore, the following project qualifies for a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).

 

The City of Somerton proposes to construct needed water infrastructure in an undeveloped area for a new high school. The work consists of the design and construction of a new 10” PVC water main, a new 12" PVC water main, water valves and fire hydrants. The 10" water main will be located on Jefferson Street between Cesar Chavez Avenue and along the upcoming access road from Jefferson Street to connect (loop) with the upcoming 12” water main that will be located on Main Street (HWY 95). The proposed improvements are to be located within the limits of the City of Somerton, Arizona, Yuma County, Latitude 32°35'49.67"N Longitude 114°43'21.73" W, Section 33, T9S, R24W.

All written requests for information or letters containing written comments should be addressed to WIFA at the address above. All written comments must be received no later than 5 p.m., 30 days from the publishing date.
