WIFA Closes $250,000 Loan with San Simon DWID

The Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) announced today that it had closed a $250,000 3-year DWSRF loan featuring 100% forgivable principal with San Simon Domestic Water Improvement District.

Project Description

San Simon will replace their old, inoperable Reverse Osmosis (RO) treatment system with a new RO system to address the fluoride exceedances in the water supply. The loan will fund the design and permitting phase of the project, and the construction phase will be funded by the United States Department of Agriculture.

WIFA is a governmental organization dedicated to protecting public health and promoting environmental quality through financial assistance for water and wastewater infrastructure. WIFA is Arizona's administrator of the Clean water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (CWSRF and DWSRF) and provides funding for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. The SRF programs function like infrastructure banks by providing low-interest loans to eligible recipients for drinking water and clean water infrastructure projects.
